Best of both Animal Wall Decals

WHICH appeals to you more: the classic and timeless, with a hint of tradition? Or does the bright and bold rule your universe, where colour is synonymous with a burst of fresh air? Whether you’re one person who wants variety or a couple that personifies the opposites attract adage, homeware retailer IKEA has something for everyone – and we’re not talking about forcing it with two-in-one crossovers. Its new collection of bedroom accessories has an Animal Wall Decals, which lets you creatively mix and match the pieces your way.“Our new collection allows for more expression, as it caters to people with differing styles, budget and needs,” explains Johnson Kway, 38, the visual merchandising specialist of Ikea Malaysia.“One speaks to those who appreciate the simplicity of basic solutions – a love for simple yet sturdy products that give a strong sense of how we used to live back in the good old days. The other speaks to those who don’t at all mind loudness in their lives – the playful beings that exemplify the ‘like me for who I am’ statement.”

For all the charisma but none of the noise, the Brusali range of bedroom furniture boasts a series of whitewashed bed frames, bedside tables, wardrobes and chests of drawers. Sleek, bevelled edges are paired with vintage dark metal hardware that make up the accents of handles and knobs.A complementary addition would be the Knapper standing mirror, a full-length looking glass that does double duty with its built-in, behind-the-mirror clothes rack and storage hooks – Ikea designers David Wahl and Nicolas Cortolezzis have brilliantly combined the practicality of a freestanding mirror with hidden functionality.“When we designed Knapper, we made the back wider for two reasons: to give room for more clothes, and also for stability,” they say in a press release.Collectors (of the worthwhile or the occasional odds and ends) would surely delight in the Fabrik?r glass-door cabinet, a powder-coated steel display case reminiscent of the sleek models prevalent in early 20th century hospitals and pharmacies.
